The new visitor screening building and perimeter security fencing were integrated into the existing Embassy compound. The design solution shifted the security building to one side to reinforce the bilateral symmetry of the courtyard and building. A new fountain on the main axis doubles as a vehicle barrier with controlled access gates and retractable bollards to either side. Elaborate metal work and natural stone piers belie the robust perimeter barrier system within.
